Susannah and I  have spent the last twenty years working in – and running – single sex and co-ed boarding and day prep schools.

Having met whilst working in the wine trade, we arrived at Woodcote House in 2003. I became Headmaster in 2009 and we ran the school together for seven years.

In 2016, we moved to Scotland when I was appointed Head at Belhaven Hill, with Susannah leading both the pastoral and boarding teams.

We returned south in 2020; I was offered the role of Head of English at Sandroyd and Susannah joined the Admissions Team at Bryanston.

In 2022, I became Head of Senior Prep at St. George’s Windsor Castle while Susannah ran the Admissions at Sunningdale.

In 2024, we decided to set up Prepositions, as we know – from experience – that successful recruitment is rarely straightforward; by that, we mean finding the very best person for a particular role.

We have therefore curated – and continue to build – an extensive database of outstanding prep school teachers (and those who are considering teaching in the prep school sector) to help match the right people to the right position in the right school.
